The Knaphus family, Brad, Mary, and children, resides in Manti, Utah. Brad grew up in Utah while Mary spent most of her youth in Texas and Mississippi. They met while attending school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Soon after they were married they moved to Laie, Hawaii to attend school at BYU-Hawaii. While in Hawaii they formed friendships with people from all over the world. In addition to the love they developed for these many people they also fell in love with the rich beauty of Hawaii, the incomparable BYU-Hawaii, and the surrounding community. Their first two children were born in Hawaii at the Kahuku Hospital, Alicia and Charles. Mary served as a dorm mom (Brad as student body president) and Brad finished up school.
After their big Hawaii adventure the family moved back to Utah where Brad earned a masters degree in Organizational Behavior from BYU. There are now ten children (all single births) ranging in age from 20 years to 20 months. There are four boys and six girls. The children are involved in church, athletics, dance, music, martial arts, and school activities. Mary sings professionally, and in church, with her good friend Cindy Simmons. The name of their group is "Sweet Dreams" and they are quickly gaining in popularity. Favorite family activities include roasting hot dogs and marshmallows in the back yard fire pit, backpacking and fishing with dad, swimming at the local pool, and summer vacations at Bear Lake.
